Meet the friendly staff at Animal Hospital of Roslyn!
I was born in Elmont, New York. I attended Chaminade High School in Mineola before continuing my education at Fairfield University in Connecticut. I then went on to earn my veterinary degree from The University of Bari Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in Italy and completed postgraduate training at the Animal Medical Center in New York City.
As a young child, I spent all of my free time in pet shops. I always had a strong desire to work with animals. I knew that I possessed great compassion for animals and enjoyed spending time with them.
From 1985 to 1995, I worked at three small animal hospitals on Long Island before deciding to open my own practice so that I could practice veterinary medicine in the way I believed it should be delivered. In 1995, I founded the Animal Hospital of Roslyn, which quickly grew into the hospital it is today.
I feel truly blessed to be able to go to work each day knowing that I can do the very best for the clients and pets that I help each day. It is very important for me to develop relationships with people so that they know that I am always there for them when they need me.
Our hospital is committed to practicing high quality medicine and surgery in a relaxed environment, ensuring that clients and their pets receive attentive, unrushed care.
Dr. Vic lives locally with his wife, has four children, and enjoys spending time with his German Shepherd, Tessa.
I'm Dr. Jacqueline LaGinestra and I'm thrilled to be a part of the team here at Animal Hospital of Roslyn. Our practice was established in 1995, just a few years before I was born, so it is fair to say that I grew up at the practice.
I earned my bachelor of science degree at Cornell University, majoring in Animal Science. From there, I earned my Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine degree from The Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University. Outside of the clinic, you'll find me at a beach, walking the hospital mascots (Ralph and Frankie), or spending time with family and friends.
It has been an honor coming into the practice and working alongside my dad who has been here for over 30 years to continue to provide the best care possible to your furry family members.
Dr. Jackie LaGinestra joined our team in 2023 and has since distinguished herself as a compassionate and skilled veterinarian, dedicated to providing exceptional care to our furry patients.
I am Dr. Gina LaGinestra Weathers, and while I have been part of the team for many years, I am excited to have officially joined as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in July 2025.
Prior to obtaining my DVM degree, I began my career as an operating room registered nurse, where I worked for five years. I earned my nursing degree from Binghamton University, and while working as an RN, I completed my nurse practitioner degree. Growing up over the years, I have always worked at the Animal Hospital of Roslyn. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I spent more time at the hospital and discovered that working in veterinary medicine was most rewarding.
It is an honor to work alongside my father and sister, and I look forward to continuing to build lifelong relationships with our clients while delivering the highest quality care to our canine and feline companions.
Outside of my time in the hospital, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our two rescue dogs. I also enjoy going to the beach, reading, and cooking.
Dr. Gina joined the Animal Hospital of Roslyn as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2025, bringing with her valuable experience in the medical field and a commitment to thorough medical care.
