Our Doctors

I was born in Elmont, New York. I attended Chaminade High School in Mineola, then attended Fairfield University in Connecticut. I continued on to The University of Bari Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in Italy where I achieved my veterinary degree. I also completed post graduate work at the Animal Medical Center in New York City .

As a young child, I spent all of my free time in pet shops. I always had a strong desire to work with animals. I knew that I possesed a great compassion for animals and enjoyed spending time with them.

From 1985 to 1995 I worked at three small animal hospitals on Long Island and then decided to open my own practice, so that I  could have the freedom to practice veterinary medicine the way that I felt it should be practiced. In 1995, I opened up the Animal Hospital of Roslyn and it quickly grew to a four veterinarian hospital.

I feel so blessed to be able to go to work each day knowing that I can do the very best for the clients and pets that I help each day. It is very important for me to develop a relationship with people so that they know that I am always there for them when they need me.

Our  hospital aims to practice high quality medicine and surgery in a relaxed atmosphere without rushing clients and their pets in and out.

Dr. Vic lives with his wife and 4 children locally with his German Shepherd, Tessa.

I'm Dr. Jacqueline LaGinestra and I'm thrilled to be a part of the team here at The Animal Hospital of Roslyn. Our practice was established in 1995, just a few years before I was born, so it is fair to say that I grew up at the practice. 

I earned my bachelor of science degree at Cornell University, majoring in Animal Science. From there, I earned my Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine degree from The Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University. Outside of the clinic, you'll find me at a beach, walking the hospital mascot (Bruno), or spending time with family and friends. 

It has been an honor coming into the practice and working alongside my dad who has been here for over 30 years to continue to provide the best care possible to your furry family members. 

Dr. Jackie LaGinestra joined our team in 2023 and has since distinguished herself as a compassionate and skilled veterinarian, dedicated to providing exceptional care to our furry patients.

Dr. Trafny is an esteemed cardiologist who collaborates with our veterinary practice as a trusted third-party specialist. With extensive training and expertise in veterinary cardiology, Dr. Trafny brings a wealth of knowledge to our team. Their compassionate approach and excellent communication skills enable them to provide comprehensive cardiac evaluations and develop tailored treatment plans for our patients with heart conditions.
