Meet the friendly staff at Animal Hospital of Roslyn!
I was born in Elmont, New York. I attended Chaminade High School in Mineola, then attended Fairfield University in Connecticut. I continued on to The University of Bari Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in Italy where I achieved my veterinary degree. I also completed post graduate work at the Animal Medical Center in New York City .
As a young child, I spent all of my free time in pet shops. I always had a strong desire to work with animals. I knew that I possesed a great compassion for animals and enjoyed spending time with them.
From 1985 to 1995 I worked at three small animal hospitals on Long Island and then decided to open my own practice, so that I could have the freedom to practice veterinary medicine the way that I felt it should be practiced. In 1995, I opened up the Animal Hospital of Roslyn and it quickly grew to a four veterinarian hospital.
I feel so blessed to be able to go to work each day knowing that I can do the very best for the clients and pets that I help each day. It is very important for me to develop a relationship with people so that they know that I am always there for them when they need me.
Our hospital aims to practice high quality medicine and surgery in a relaxed atmosphere without rushing clients and their pets in and out.
Dr. Vic lives with his wife and 4 children locally. He has two great dogs Tessa and Sophie and three cats: Luke Salem and Lucie.
Dr. Ostreich is a native Long Islander originally from Plainview. Before receiving her DVM she was a licensed veterinary technician working in Emergency, Internal Medicine, ICU/Critical Care, and Exotics medicine at many of the specialty hospitals on Long Island. Dr. Ostreich’s interests include small animal medicine and surgery as well as exotic animal medicine. She currently lives with her many dogs and cats as well as her 2 blue and gold macaws, Kiwi and Angel.
I attended Great Neck South High School before graduating Cornell University with a Bachelor’s of Science in 1970. From there, I attended vet school at the University of Bologna and graduated in 1979 with my D.V.M.
Through the years, I have worked on Long Island, in Brooklyn, and in Connecticut. I have also previously owned the Animal Clinic of Woodhaven for 34 years. I’ve been married to my wife, Sheri, for 47 years and have one daughter, Dr. Samantha Fish, and two grandchildren. I also have a cat named “Katie.”
I graduated from Mercy College in 1993 with a B.S. in Veterinary Technology. Upon graduation, I then attended LSU School of Veterinary Medicine in 1997 where I received my degree in veterinary medicine. At home, I live with 5 cats and one golden retriever!
